Cisco and RVC introduce nomination BIT-connected health

Cisco corporation and the Russian Venture Company (RVC) have established a new nomination – BIT-connected health – in the national contest of innovation ideas, technologies and business-plans BIT-2012, computer portal reports.
The initiative is reportedly aimed at attracting young scientists and technological entrepreneurs to solving problems in the medicine and healthcare sectors. The best innovation projects in the sector will be realized with support of Cisco.
Projects of the following two types will be judged in the nomination BIT-connected health:
1. Integrated solutions – system technological projects, combining specific categories of Cisco telecommunication equipment, solutions using applications of other producers, as well as developments of the contest participants for realizing technical and business tasks in healthcare sector;
2. Technological innovations, created at the basis of IP-protocol (new or improved services, functions, technologies, protocols).
The projects, presented at the contest in this nomination must be marked with the tag “BIT-connected health”. Besides judges of the federal contest BIT-2012 or regional stages BIT-2012 (depending on where the application will be submitted), representatives of Cisco and the Association for Development of Medical Information Technologies (ADMIT) will also judge the competing projects. In addition to above-mentioned criteria, the judge collegiums will also take into consideration technological novelty of the project, its economic sustainability, depth of processing (idea/prototype/working solution) and the team’s ability to turn it into a successful business.
The winner of the BIT-2012 contest in the nomination BIT-connected health will receive any Cisco equipment worth $10,000. Besides, the teams of the best projects will undergo training in the Moscow Business School under the program MBA iExecutive and get business management knowledge and skills.
