Saratov region’s $555m chemical and bio safety program
Authorities in Saratov region have approved a $555m regional program to provide chemical and biological safety to run over 2010-2013, regional officials report.

The program is reportedly aimed at preventing social-economic and ecological damages from possible accidents at dangerous chemical and biological facilities.

The program is to be financed from the regional budget, with some funding to be raised from the federal budget, municipal budgets, as well as non-budgetary sources, officials said.
