Stavropol region’s Kislovodsk eyes $100m solar power station
Science institute Rostovteploelectroproduct has announced plans to build a $100m solar power station in Stavropol region, the first in Russia.
The solar station is reportedly to be located on a 20-hectare land site in the city of Kislovodsk.
Under the project, the station is to have solar-voltaic arrays to produce electricity and thermal solar energy collecting panels to make thermal energy.
The station’s power capacity is to totak 13 MW, including 6.5 MW of electrical power and 6.5 MW of thermal power.
Construction is scheduled to start in 2011, further timeframes for the project have yet to be disclosed.
