Confusion over plans for Krasnodar golf course plan
Krasnodar-based fitness center chain Strike Fitness has announced plans to build a golf club in Krasnodar region.
Marchmont ran the story on July 16th but today received new information questioning the accuracy of reports on the project that circulated the news wires yesterday.
The firm has so far not disclosed investment figures, how it was reported on Wednesday that 'experts' had put the figure as high as $150m. However Marchmont's source in the region today said this was wildly exaggerated.
According to reports the club was to be named OrangE GOLF and built a 100-hectare site in Yablonevsky, two kilometers outside Krasnodar. However, it emerged today that the club would likely be named Krasnodar Country Club at Lambina Hills and be built on a 280-hectare site.
Construction is scheduled to begin in Winter this year and last 12 to 18 months. Some 300 homes around the area are also to be built over the next three years.
Under plans, the 18-hole course is to feature a 2km driving range, coaching facilities, 9 hole par 3 golf course, spa, fitness center, boutique hotel, clubhouse, pro shop, small event facility, and restaurant and café.
