Agrarian group Miratorg has announced $350m plans to build pig farms in Belgorod and Kursk region.
The project is reportedly to be partly financed with a loan from state-run Vnesheconombank.
Under the project, the company is to build seven $50m farms for 115,000 pigs each.
The project is carried out in order to load the company’s pig-slaughtering and pork-processing plant Korocha in Belgorod region, with annual capacity of 2 million pigs, the firm said.
The farms are scheduled to be put into commission in 2012-2013.
